A Vida no Céu

Recommended book for Secondary Education as a reading suggestion.

Life in Heaven is a dystopian novel, set in a future that follows the Great Disaster, and in which the world is no longer where and as we know it. Finding the terrestrial globe entirely covered by water, and the temperature, on the surface, intolerable, it remained for Man to ascend to the heavens. But this ascent is literal (not allusive or symbolic):Humanity, now reduced to a couple of million people, inhabits suspended villages and floating cities in gigantic airships called Tokyo, Shanghai or São Paulo, and the poorest sail the air in rudimentary small rafts. Carlos Benjamin Moco is the narrator of the story. He is 16 years old and was born in a village, Luanda, which has more than one hundred ferries. The disappearance of his father will make Benjamim decide to go looking for him.
